TOPIC

From Apple Pay to robo-advisors that provide investment advice, recent technological innovations are beginning to change the way Canadians bank and key stakeholders in the financial services industry have taken notice. Within the past six years, more than 100 start-ups have formed in the Canadian FinTech sector and, over the same period, the industry has collectively raised more than $1 billion in funding.

However, the rapid adoption of digital financial services has also raised questions on whether regulations should be imposed to combat foreseeable risks.

During this program, our panellists will discuss:

  • What is FinTech and how it will change the way Canadians bank;
  • How does FinTech fit into the Canada’s financial regulatory environment and how will it adapt; and
  • The latest trends and developments in FinTech.

Lunch will be served at noon and the presentation will begin at 12:30 pm.
