TOPIC

This program builds on the recent and upcoming changes to the Canadian Privacy Landscape discussion that we held in January 2024.

We will briefly remind attendees of Quebec Law 25’s provisions (the last of which became effective in September 2024) before discussing in detail the Regulation respecting the anonymization of personal information that we did not cover at the last event. In addition, we will discuss the Quebec Privacy Commissioner’s guidelines on valid consent and some considerations regarding enforcement.

This event will be led by Wendy Mee of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP and Max Jarvie of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP.

The discussion will help attendees better understand practical considerations of the Canadian privacy landscape with the aim of protecting Canadians’ personal information.

A brief open question period at the end of the program will be included.

Lunch will be served at noon and the presentation will begin at 12:30 pm.
