TCLG Cocktail Reception
The Toronto Computer Lawyers’ Group (TCLG) is adding an “Event” to our Cocktail Reception (new start time 5:00 p.m. December 14) Professor Emir Crowne of the University of Windsor, Faulty of Law and Brian Gray, Partner – Norton Rose, will present “Academia v. Bay Street” – as both sides weigh in on the Federal Court of Appeal decision in Amazon.
Emir Crowne, a Barrister & Solicitor, is an Associate Professor at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. With over 50 publications to his name, he has written extensively on patentable subject matter (with over a dozen articles to date), and recently defended his PhD on this very topic. He also writes headnotes for the Canadian Patent Report and Co-Chairs the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot.
Brian Gray practices litigation and dispute resolution for patent, copyright, trade-mark and advertising matters. He counsels and represents clients with large patent and trade-mark portfolios and has appeared before the Federal and Ontario courts on patent, trademark and copyright matters.
There will be drinks and hors d’oeuvres following the Amazon case discussion – no charge to members of either the TCLG or our guests from the OBA IT & E-Commerce section – $30 for all others.
