Michael Fekete, a Partner in Osler’s Technology Business Group, will discuss how concerns about the USA PATRIOT Act are impacting on Canadian privacy laws and the implications for outsourcing and IT services transactions. Michael’s presentation will provide a practical overview of what IT lawyers need to know and best practices for negotiating related contractual language.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Michael Fekete is a partner in the Business Law Department practising in the Technology Business Group. His practice focuses on information technology, outsourcing and privacy. He has been recognized by Lexpert, the Legal Lexpert American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 lawyers in Canada,and Chambers Globalas a leading practitioner in Information Technology Law. Michael is also the co-chair of the Legal Affairs Forum of the Information Technology Association of Canada.

Cost for lunch: ten dollars ($10) for members and students, twenty dollars ($20) for non-members, payable at the meeting. Receipts will be available. Cheques should be made payable to the Toronto Computer Lawyers’ Group.
