Tax issues are often a challenge for IT agreements and other agreements relating to technology transfers and services. Dov Begun will highlight some common tax issues encountered by practitioners, such as withholding taxes for services and royalty type payments as well as provincial and federal transfer taxes. This presentation will be of interest to both counsel for suppliers and users of information technology.

Dov is a partner in the firm’s Tax Department and specializes in the areas the taxation of high-technology transactions and cyber taxation. Dov has published extensively, including on the taxation of electronic commerce, intellectual property transfers and income characterization for companies engaged in electronic commerce.
